Weighted blankets have for some time been a drug-free and non-invasive alternative for comforting children, teens, and adults who might suffer from a multitude of maladies including:

However, more recently, people have come to realize they are not just for people who struggle with these ailments!!  Weighted blankets apply an even pressure all over your body that simulates a "warm hug" or embrace. This triggers the body to produce chemicals (e.g. serotonin, oxytocin, and melatonin) that help lower heart rate, reduce blood pressure, reduce stress, and promote and regulate sleep patterns.* These blankets can be used by just about anybody!!

My blankets are carefully crafted to evenly distribute the weight in ~ 5" x 5" pockets sewn right into the blanket.  I use non-toxic poly pellets (or you can upgrade to glass beads) and a variety of fabric options that allow the blanket to be machine washed (warm or cool water/gentle cycle) and machined dried (low heat). 

If you know someone (even yourself) who could benefit from using weighted blanket therapy, these blankets are an excellent choice to help calm, relax and promote better sleep patterns.  

The blankets are CUSTOMIZABLE!!

Each blanket can be customized by choosing the fabric type for each side, colors and prints, a choice of beads, and you can even have a tag sewn on the blanket with a short message such as, "Happy Birthday Susan" or "Love Mom & Dad".  

Fabric types include cotton, flannel, minky, double-gauze, and fleece. You can choose a type for each side of the blanket, or use the same for both sides!! (I discourage Minky on both sides as the fabric will not breathe very well and can make it too warm). Solids, prints, even licensed (e.g. Star Wars, Disney, etc.) options are available.

The standard beads are "environmentally friendly" recycled, non-toxic poly pellets.  There is an option for "virgin" non-toxic poly pellets.  And, there is an option to use glass beads.  There are benefits for each type of pellet/bead, so you should research to determine which is the best option for you.

It is important to use caution when using the blankets. They are not be used for infants.  Also, consideration for any individual who may struggle to move out from under one. I am only a seamstresses, not a doctor or therapist, so please consult with your specialist regarding the ordering and use of these items. Because these items are handmade, as the seller I am not responsible for misuse of the blanket. As the buyer, you need to ensure proper use of the blanket. By purchasing a blanket, you are agreeing to the release of liability and are assuming full responsibility that you will properly use the weighted blanket.  The beads can be a choking hazard. I recommend performing regular inspections on your blanket to ensure there are no rips, tears, etc. that could release the beads.  Never use weighted blankets on infants, and you should consult your pediatrician or therapist before using on young children.
